|
|
I have found a bit of information on this but the threads are very old so was hoping to get some more recent info.
I am about to run out of Yasmin and I really do not want to change brand - has anyone managed to get it out here and if so how?
Any help is much appreciated! |

Where have you tried? Birth control is over the counter here so bring an empty box from back home to nearbye pharmacies and ask around. If that doesn't work try asking at a hospital, especially a large one or women's hospital. The nurses should be able to tell you if it's available. The same drug might also be available under a different name. |

This thread covers how to get Yasmin very thoroughly.
But short version. You need to see a gynecologist for this specific pill.
Ignore anyone who tells you otherwise. |
I'll tell you otherwise so ignore me if you want
I'm a bloke but my other half got Yasmine prescribed from a regular, run of the mill doctor for months on end. |

I don't care about this particular bc but my wife wants to start taking it and we're not really sure who to ask on the subject. Can I just go to my regular doctor and try to explain it to him? Or do I need to go to a hospital like someone said above? |

Gosh Daelim, yet again, another man who thinks he knows best about birth control.
This has been discussed in the thread I linked to in my post above. There used to be easier ways to get Yasmin. Now you need to see a gynaecologist.
It's still quite simple, just go to a women's hospital and tell the receptionist you want Yasmin. She'll send you to a room with some medical professional who will ask you a few baffling questions and then write you your prescription.
I just don't understand why there is a succession of guys giving their (ill-informed) two-pence worth and contradicting the actual people, WOMEN, who take it.
A million roll-eyes would not be enough. |

So again can you get it over the counter if it's not this particular brand or my wife needs to go to a woman's hospital period if she wants bc? |

If she doesn't want a pill with drospirenone in then she should be able to get it over the counter. |
