My new hagwon just isn't working out. Even if I quit with proper notice, I still anticipate problems getting an LOR. The boss and I haven't been seeing eye to eye a while, and don't think he will want to help me out.
So if I can't get the LOR, and if I don't leave the country, can I cancel my current visa and get a new one without getting a new FBI check? If I remember correctly the FBI check is supposed to carry on with your visa forever so long as you don't leave the country for more than a certain amount of time (six weeks maybe), but does it carry over if you cancel your visa and get a new one? It's a longshot, I know, but it would make my life a lot simpler if it did. |

From what I understand, with the new regulations that just came in, you will need a new CBC even when you change jobs. |

You cannot cancel your visa by your self and still remain in the country.
IF your boss goes with you, you can cancel and remain to transfer.
IF labor intervenes you can stay in Korea and change jobs (transfer).
IF you can't get a LOR, your boss won't go with you to cancel and you have no grounds for a MOEL intervention then you need to leave Korea and hand in your ARC to cancel your status.
IF you return immediately you may be able to get a new visa without new documents (case and immigration officer dependent).
The change everyone is talking about is the MOE/POE requirements for copies of the documents that immigration also needs for your E2.
(photo)COPIES of the apostilled CRC and degree will suffice for the MOE/POE for those on an E2.
