Alrighty then, putting things in writing is a first step toward making things a reality.

I'm 43 and I want to bench press 400 lbs before I die. Why is this important to me? Because all odds say no way especially at my age but this is just a start of greater things to come.

My bucket list doesn't consist of things that can be easily achieved with or without money...what are some of yours?

This actually seems like an awesome idea for me to start on because some things you gotta plan for if you want to do them before you die. Although I don't have much to put on mine yet Laughing

-Travel the world (so at least be to all continents minus Antarctica because I don't like the cold)

-Be at an intermediate level in 6 languages other than English

-Try being a makeup artist (I did random makeup seminars in college and it was fun)

-Have a pet pig Very Happy

If you haven't been to Alaska yet, then I guess you haven't really driven across the US yet. Maybe you should change that to "Drive across the lower 48?"

yeah, yeah, good point ... semantics I guess. My 'hoopdee' might not survive a drive to DC to get my FBI CBC apostilled, let alone a drive thru Canadia AND Alaska.

when I was in Hawaii, I remember a tour bus guide saying he cringed every time a tourist said "back in the states " or "back in the US" , when referring to the mainland. He was like "umm, we ARE part of the US states , you know ?!?! " ... sure enough, some lady said it at some point during the tour.

That was a Kick @$$ road trip though ... Philly, Cincinnati , Louisville, KY - Memphis, TN - New Orleans, Austin, TX- White Sands, NM - Denver, CO- BYU (Utah)- Las Vegas - Grand Canyon - ASU campus, AZ - and finally San Diego ... (sigh)

ALL the stuff I did on my bucket list, I did while I was in my 30's ... my 20's are a blur ... (what a 'wasted' decade) ... Carpe Diem kids ! ... Carpe F-ing Diem.

Sleep under the Northern lights. With my girlfriend ofcourse!

Visit remote towns in Nunavut + Greenland.

Stand in the place with the best view of the stars at night. Hm, Gobi desert perhaps or the Himalayas?

See the Earth from orbit (probably not going to happen!)

And the simple yet hard one to achieve: Be a good dad and husband!
