Hi, I have the following documents and I was wondering what else I needed to obtain an E-2 visa.

- FBI CBC dated June 27/2011 and apostatized August 9/2011
- 2 copies of my diploma - 1 is apostatized
- 2 copies of my university transcripts - both are sealed/stamped
- American passport valid until 2014

what else do I need to get an E-2 visa?

another important question: what does my sponsor have to provide me with? What do they have to do?

I was thinking of going to the immigration office soon, any help would be appreciated!

thanks

1) First you need to get a job and sign a contract.
2) your employer will then take your documents to immigration and apply for a visa confirmation number.
3) you will fly to Guam (assuming it is your first visa) and get your E2 from the Korean consulate there (look at the sticky on visa runs for the what you need to do).
4) you will return to Korea and activate the E2 on entry. Start work.
5) sometime in the next 90 days after you activate the E2 you will need to get your medical and ARC.

thanks for the response!

right now i'm in Korea on a student visa. i actually made the switch from E-2 to student visa without leaving the country... i was wondering if i could make the switch again from student visa to E-2 without leaving the country again. do you think it's possible?

could i be the one who takes the contract to the immigration office?

i already obtained a medical check when i first got here, but i'm guessing i'll have to do it again?

i appreciate the help Smile

No.
No.
The employer needs to take it to immigration and apply for the visa issuance number.
New visa = new medical and new ARC.
