You don't, basically.

You can search around, I found a plug in once that got around it, but it was iffy most of the time and slow. Not worth it.

Or you can just pay for a Videobb or Megavideo membership and watch tv shows off of sidereel.com Sidereel has every tv show that has ever existed I think, lol.

Movies I get from streaming sites like gomoviez.info or occasionally quicksilverscreen.

I watch Hulu videos. I bought Strong VPN, and it has been good. I just bought 3 months to try it, but plan on going with the 1 year/$55 package when I finish. That's the same package I have, basically. I believe it is the cheapest package they offer.

It works very well, and you don't need to install any special software. You use Windows built-in VPN set-up to do it. This can be connected or disconnected within Windows.

You can use it multiple places, as long as you are just using it on one computer at once.

Hotspot Shield VPN software.

But then, Torrent delivers you far better outcome if there are sufficient seeds.

Apart from it being completely free, I'm baffled how anyone could think that downloading individual torrents was a better option than streaming episodes on a site like Hulu or BBC iPlayer.

A VPN is definitely the way to go as long as your internet speed is fast enough, I'm with strong VPN too and their customer service is excellent.

Some of the free VPNs such as hotspot shield and expat shield are ok, but the adverts etc can be really annoying. If you're planning on watching a lot of TV it's definitely worth paying for a proper service

I've been using Hotspot Shield since I got here last year. Can easily watch Hulu and Netflix and anything else. It's free!

i haven't checked out hulu in years, but from what i remember the quality was only decent. maybe they've upgraded and have 720p/1080p content now, but i'm not sure. also the adverts are annoying.

i have everything on my htpc which outputs to my hdtv so i like to watch high quality rips. takes about 5 minutes to grab the 720p version of any given episode and it's nice and organized by my software:

What? lol

Torrents are also free, the quality is far superior, there is no buffering time, no adds and no need to pay for a VPN.

'Also free'? The first thing I said about torrents was that they were free!

Sure there's no buffering time, but then there isn't with a VPN either if your connection is fast enough, torrents also have a downloading time to contend with, not to mention the time it takes to find the shows you want, IF they are there at all. VPNs also have the edge in that they allow you to stream live TV.

Apart from that, you're dead right, torrents are the way to go and not out of date at all.

Unless someone is watching the world's most obscure show, it will be easily downloadable on torrent. Most recent shows' torrents will also have many many seeds, and most older ones too. Searching for a torrent takes literally as long as going to any search engine and typing the keyword. And the length of download time, for people in Korea, is meaningless. I'm on a 100mb line and I can download 24/26 episode seasons of shows (in 1080p) in the space of 2 or 3 hours.

Torrents are superior to streaming in every single possible way.

How can a download time of 3 or 4 hours be 'superior' to the push of a button?

The only way torrents are superior to streaming is in terms of picture quality, torrents aren't even the best way of downloading stuff to your computer any more.

I haven't used torrents in years and I'm surprised so many people still do, technology has moved on... get with the program! Smile

You must have a terrible connection. I can download 6gb blu-ray rips of movies in less than 20 minutes, and they look spectacular. And the main thing about torrents is that you then have the file to transfer as you see fit; you don't have to re-stream the whole thing again next time you want to use it/watch it on a different device.

You seem to be making it up as you go along now.

Torrents are old, cumbersome technology. The internet is moving towards 'cloud' based programs and streaming, yet you recommend mass downloading of files that you're probably only ever going to watch once.

Fair enough, downloading has it's advantages if it's something quality that you're likely to want watch again and again, but then there's fileserve etc for that these days.

Not to mention that torrents are no help at all when it comes to watching live TV.

Obviously if torrents work for you then that's great, but talking as if it's still 2005 just makes you look silly.

Pertaining to a previous poster's comment, the show I want to watch IS probably one of the "World's Most Obscure Show."

It's about this guy, Zane Landry, that goes around the world and gets drunk and gets into the drinking culture of most major cities.
Before coming to Korea I saw this show and it was pretty cool.
I wanted to watch it again but it's only offered on Hulu, and NOT on any torrents from Pirate Bay or BTJunkie.

The name of the show is "3 Sheets" and obviously the episode I want to watch is "South Korea."

If anyone can get the show and seed it to me, I would be extremely grateful!
