The last few years have taken a toll on my face. Wrinkled forehead, baggy eyes, etc. What treatments (non-plastic surgery, non-botox) can I get to freshen up my appearance? And how much do they cost? I'm a man, btw. Thanks! |

You could go to a spa and have some face treatments. I go every week for the "caviar facial" which includes a bunch of creams, oils, masks, and face/neck/shoulder/back massage. It costs me about 40,000 won, but I have a package. It's more like 50,000 won if you buy them one off. It's not as good as a facial back home (easily between 100 and 200 dollars, though more intense) but it's far more affordable, so I can do it weekly instead of monthly.
I hardly ever wear make up, because this keeps my skin really even. |

Yeah, you need a good facial...
Daily toner and moisuriser after a shower can help a 'little.'
Stop smoking, if you do.
It's weird though....I had to stop smoking, drinking coffee and booze for the past 6 days due to a stomach problem - and I look even bloody older! What's up with that? I'm sleeping better, eating better, drinking lots of green tea etc and I look older than when I was drinking 6 dbl esspressos a day and a 1.6ml pitcher of beer a night with 5 cigs....
Someone please tell me where the justice is in that?! |

It takes a few weeks after quitting for your body to adjust. You'll look better if you keep off the vices for a good 3 weeks. |

I highly recommend Gowoonsesang dermatology clinic, in particular Dr Moon Jung Kim at the Myeongdong clinic. I had mild Vitamin C peels a few times a year and it worked wonders on my skin. I had a clearer, brighter complexion and less lines on my face after the treatments with the results lasting around 3 months. I paid about W200,000 a treatment. A little pricey but they treatment lasts for about an hour and involves peels, masks and all sorts of special dermatological gadgets.
I also had laser treatment to reduce the amount of lines on my face and redness. It was effective but extremely painful.
I saw the occasional male client there so it's not just for women. A male friend of mine also had regular treatments there and was happy with the results. |

I'm trying to keep up the healthy regime until the 24th Dec. Then I'm going outside of Korea to visit an old friend from Korea and there's no way I'll not be indulging then, so hopefully my stommy will be better by then and the bags under my eyes and pale complexion will have improved!
A nice 3,000 won rejuvinating face mask for me this wekeend! I like the tomato ones or the cucumber ones! |

You should feel and look great by then. Have your fun with your friend, then detox (by which I mean abstaining from smoking and heavy drinking) for a few weeks again and you'll be good as gold. Have fun! |

I have been in the same position for many years.
Last month I found an answer that radically improves my skin and face and its general flexibility.
First of all understand that ALL soaps dry out skin. This is key. Then Understand that certain oils clean skin, don't leave excess oil and do ensure your skin is supple and radiant - meaning they are the perfect replacement for soap / shower gel, face washes etc.
The best option I have found so far is Olive Oil. When I first heard about this I thought it was such a load of sh_t.
However.
Search google for washing your face with Olive oil and you will soon see what I mean.
I am 6 weeks in and do this twice a day.
I now not only don't look tired all the time but air conditioning doesn't make my eyes red and I look young for my age (according to comments lately).
Basically: search for Olive oil as a face wash and keep reading forums and you will see what I mean. Also while you are on the subject it turns out Olive oil is outstanding for shaving too.
Still want more? Clean your skin from the insides: eat a 70%+ raw fruit and veg diet and it is like your skin has a shower on the inside. This can bee boosted with daily aerobic exercise (makes your lymph system work way quicker - meaning dead tissue etc moves out of body quicker).
I also recommend going to bed at 10:30 or before - literally makes a noticeable difference every time I do this.
Also have a look at a thing called "oil pulling" - so worth while. Again I use Olive Oil for that - for some good info on it, google it as usual but also put it into Amazon, check out books on it + read the reviews people leave. That is what convinced me.
Best of luck - I am confident all of the above that took me years to learn / discover will massively help you. |

Hey Jim!!! I wonder if I can be frank with you??!
According to your post (written in haste I hope) you've been working on the raw fruit veg diet/aerobic exercise/early to bed regime for years.
But none of these apparently worked, since you say you looked tired all the time.
Now a mere six weeks ago after discovering the olive, you are transformed, people saying you look young for your age.
I understand this to mean that only the olive has worked and all the other stuff must have been a washout, in vain.
Tell you what Jim, if I felt the need to wash my face in olive oil twice a day, I'd be really worried about being too wrapped up in myself. |

Bascially eating right, getting enough sleep and exercising can do a lot to improve the way you look.
Along those lines, not smoking, not over drinking, getting sufficient sleep will do wonders and all of it without products.
There are also some great ideas in this thread about spas and some products. |
