Just checked out Dave's job postings for Korea (April 21), and it looks like things have turned around since I looked about a month ago. Am I imagining things or is it really that much better? Especially in Seoul.

The reason I am commenting now is because I am thinking of coming back to Seoul in July. I know that's an extremely busy month at adult schools and there is some hiring anyway.

But would anyone like to comment on the nature of the job market for the next three months? Are things picking up?

Thanks all Cool

I just got an email from a recruiter who said she just got quite a few new jobs in Seoul, but that they were all looking for female teachers.

Has the starting pay for teachers gone up recently?

several recruiters are always posting for the same set of jobs... you can always get a job here, but it won't always be the best job...

Yeah, can anyone tell me if there is any difference between Korean recruiters and NZ recrutiters because the NZ recruiters seem nicer. As far as acceptable jobs in seoul (where the air is so bad I can hardly mouth the words I love you) I've come up with squat.

Not hard to find a job if you have something that the schools want. For example lots of schools seem to have developed a female-fixation, in my case I found one recently because they wanted someone to do some American history/social studies classes and they wanted an American for that (I really didn't think that my history major would EVER be of any help in getting a job Laughing ). But before I latched onto that one almost every school that would take me at all seriously had split shifts, so the job market can't be that good...

I'm looking for a job to start in mid to late June/early July in Seoul, single accomodation. I have a degree in English Education. I've been here 4 years. Loking for a laid back job if anyone has any leads let me know.

Due to the exchange rate schools seem to be having more trouble finding applicants.

The best pying places are still ok, cos they recruit from people alredy here I suppose. Lower wage contracts are not getting filled so fast....

Based on the evidence in my workplace anyway.
