Wow I never thought I'd see the day. I have had a student who is very disrespectful and rude for the past two semesters. Well to my surprise I was told by management today that the student has been told he must write a letter listing the things he has done and write an apology to me and my co-teacher or else he will be kicked out of the academy.
I'm amazed. It's very nice to know the school has actually listened to my complaints. |

We actually had a mentally-disturbed student at the university level who freaked out every teacher who taught him. This guy is/was literally a Virginia Tech waiting to happen. He caused class disruptions in various ways (I never taught him, so I'm not totally sure what all he did) and made one of the female foreign teachers cry because of the way he said he was going to "be waiting for her" after he got upset about a bad grade (I may have the wording wrong, but that's basically what happened).
The foreign teachers held a few meetings with the boss, who then met with his Korean professors and higher university officials. Our boss and this student's major adviser met with the student to talk about it for almost an hour.
According to our boss, it was obvious that something was not right. They then met once more with his mother, who said, "He used to be a kind young man until he returned from the army -- something happened to him there."
Then a student in one of his classes went off on the guy about something, and there was a fight IN CLASS. The crazy guy pulled a knife and screamed that he was going to kill the other. This happened in another foreigner's ESL class.
After that event, there was a very serious meeting with the top people at the school, and the student was not allowed to return to the university. I fully expect the kid to be on the news some day, and I hope he doesn't show up for revenge.

Geez. Sounds like a looney.
Did you have to go with the Virginia Tech reference though? You do know what a Hokie is right? |

I'm serious though, talk to anyone involved. The kid was that scary. VT was mentioned by a few who had to deal with the guy. |

It's alright I'm just giving you a hard time. It's a fair comparison, the kid who shot up VT was Korean after all. |
