Yeah it certainly was written in haste...

Let me clarify:

The great diet is something I very gradually moved towards - only really adopted it consistently in recent months. In the past I knew it really helped but it wasn't easy to folllow.

Then I came to Korea and started working split shifts and things got particularly bad - so I resorted to the largely raw approach and things improved.

However, quite often my skin felt particularly taught and after trying all kinds of soaps, shower gels etc I searched for a different way to wash my face and found the olive oil approach. I decided it sounded pretty stupid but since I had olive oil in the cupboard I gave it a go. In one day most problems were massively improved - it seems that the skin's natural oils were consistently being stripped from my skin every time I used shaving foam or some form of soap - and since the olive oil this wasn't the case - so not only was my skin clean it was massively hydrated and not nearly as susceptible to air conditioning, late nights etc.

So I thought - fine, I'll replace soap with olive oil for a week and see what happens. I am not regarding this as a vanity issue whereby I am creating some kind of facemask for myself or anything - simply replacing one man made liquid to wash my face with a natural one. I am glad I did and wish I had done it years ago.

Note: if I had just read the above several weeks ago I would also think it sounds ridiculous. However the results speak for themselves.

Lush makes an oil-based conditioner bar that doubles as a shaving lubricant.
