It seems Tim Tebow, once again, as pulled off the unlikely.
His stats are mediocre. His QB play is downright bad. However, despite all odds, the kid finds ways to win games.
What do you guys think?
do you think its all still a fluke? Or do you think he is a winner? |

| Well it's certainly intriguing to watch, because he can't seem to throw yet they still win. I think Denver has been fortunate to play a rather soft schedule for the games Tebow has started. I think this is mostly the case of a very good Denver defense against some rather poor offensive competition. With the Denver defense keeping the game low scoring usually under 20 points for the opposition and a ball control offense that limits turnovers they always have a chance to win. I think Tebow has shown that he is a great athlete and leader, but I don't think they'll do so well against playoff caliber teams. |

| as the poster above mentioned their schedule (and division) is rather soft, but i think as long as john fox keeps coaching up the team to tebow's strength (wisely enough) they should make the playoffs but probably come up short against a balanced team. Having said that, Tebow is an enigma -- and is nothing but a winner. Just fun to watch! |

| I am going to take exception to the idea of crappy quarterback play being fun to watch. It's fun to watch for that one drive of the game were the opposing team amazingly folds to him but the other 55 minutes of him were he went 4 for 12 and racked up 10 points of decent field position is awful. He sucks they'll not go far with him. |

| Actually haven't seen him play. But when a guy goes 5-1 on his starts, I'd have to call him a winner. |

Yeah, Craig Krenzel won like his first 4 stats too. He sucked is now out of the league. Just because his team won doesn't make him the reason they won |

| Tebow won in the SEC at the highest level of college football. The Denver players have rallied around him. That I think is more important than his throwing mechanics. His throwing will get better. |

Teams Tebow has beat:
1. The Dolphins, who were 0-5 at the time. The Dolphins were one onsides kick away from winning.
2. The Raiders, who had one of their customary brain fart games.
3. The Chiefs. They are pretty bad this year.
4. NY Jets, who are great at playing the same level as their opponent.
5. The Chargers, a team that had lost 4 straight (and now 5).
Not exactly stellar competition, although the Jets and Raiders are respectable teams. On the other hand, the Broncos (and Tebow) got killed at home by the Lions, who are good but not amazing. |

| What really annoys me as a football fan is all these "experts" such as Mel Kiper Jr and Todd McShay obsessing over all these details and mechanics about how a QB plays when what really matters is whether they can lead their team to victory or not. The Broncos don't have a very strong roster but with Tebow as the leader you can see that the team rallies around him. Blaine Gabbert was highly touted for his ideal mechanics and Jimmy Claussen was on the ESPN magazine cover for throwing "the perfect spiral" and so far, both have been busts. |

| *sigh* the guy went 9 for 18. That isn't going to beat any real competition. He went 2 for 8 for 69 yards against the f'n Chiefs. They are winning IN-SPITE of him, not BECAUSE of him. |

I mostly agree. If Denver had played with the same mentality all season that they are now, they would have been winning then, too. Don't forget, the Broncos went 6-0 to start the season two years ago with Orton. Fox went to the super bowl with Delhomme for crying out load.
The arguments I keep hearing from Tebowites are all flawed. "All he's done is win." Big deal. There are many players who won and won in college but that didn't mean they were destined to be great players in the NFL. Danny Wuerffel? Eric Crouch? It means nothing. Scouts know to look for more than just stats and records. Tebow does not have the tools to be a QB in the NFL with continued success. Lots of QBs have been able to win a handful of games. There is nothing special about winning 5 games in a weak division with a defense that has been playing like Denver's has.
In short, no, I am not a believer. |

You have to like this guy.
He's the modern version of Doug Flutie. And if you are really old like me, you had to like Doug Flutie. Flutie was tiny guy, and Tebow is a giant, but other than that, it's the same story. |

About the only way they are similar is they had decent college football careers, after that they are wayyy different. Flutie is too small, Tebow is the league because of his size. Tebow was a first round draft pick, flutie played in the USFL first, then only played sparingly and poorly for 4 seasons before being exiled to the CFL. Tebow is a protestant and Flutie a catholic. Flutie from the north, Tebow from the south...They couldn't be much more different. I guess they are similar in the sense Tebow probably should be sent to the CFL..... |
