Exactly, if I were in America I would have my glock nine tucked in my sock at ALL TIMES, even in the shower, with a mac10 in the small of my back and an uzi within a ten metre spriting distance so Izza could popa cap in any mutha punka tring to jack my schnitzles!

Oh and an aykay under the bed.

I keep a rattan Kali stick close at hand in the entryway of my apartment. That shiz hurts more than metal, and doesn't break as easily.

I have a bayonet but I'm thinking a hard blunt weapon would be more effective. Maybe a homemade mace might do the trick.

My favorite story of a Korean maintenance guy acting the putz to a foreigner: my buddy left his key with the manager in his building and came home to a razor and a sink full of hair.

Is he sure his girlfriend didn't do that?

This sort of stuff happens everywhere.

I had an apartment in a rougher part of town, and my girlfriend and I worked opposite hours - she leaves in the morning, just as I'm getting home. One day, after she left for work and forgot to lock the door, I awoke to the sound of the TV. When I stepped out of my room, there were a bunch of Somalian guys sitting on my couch, watching TV. I sleep with the door closed so I didn't hear them come in.

Apparently, their friend told them he'd be late and to just walk in and make themselves at home until he gets there. Unfortunately, his apartment# was #701 - not #1701.

Shocked

Floating World, haven't you changed jobs like, 3 times in the past month? I think the one here everyone should be laughing at is you.

On topic, I find people who don't lock their doors when they're at home at night or whenever to be inviting trouble, but it's never happened to me anyways.

And that's coming from a Canadian. Wink

I'm Canadian as well, and I still think it's ridiculous. And here is something else to ponder. He hears someone at his door, and happens to have a 357 magnum, not locked up or anything, but close enough at hand, to grab it, and make it to the door before it opens? It's just laying on your bathroom counter just in case?

They say that gun owners are much, much, much more likely to shoot a friend or family member than an intruder.

Yeah, but a gun owner is more likely to shoot an intruder than someone who doesn't own a gun. Without a gun, it is pretty hard to shoot anyone -- WITH a gun, it gets easier....

Gun owners shoot more stuff, ya know, because they HAVE guns. Just like people who make use of cars have more car accidents than people who avoid using cars....
