Here's a vote for the professionals. Took him ~15 minutes, a bunch of metal rods and some kind of hose thing but my drain is totally clear now. IDK if I would spend the 40K more often than about every 3 months or so at most, though--really hoping this is a 1-time thing.
I don't doubt the coathanger idea could work, or the heavy plunging, but even messing around my trap was disgusting enough--I don't have the stomach to pull up whatever was down there and and get it out. There are a lot of cleaning things I don't mind--kitchen and floors and windows and laundry--but I draw the line at pulling 'stuff' out of drains.
Thanks NR for the insider perspective on this subject. I'll remember to use my drain cleaner every couple of weeks now to try to limit new buildup from happening again  |
