There is no good places near Gangnam Station.
Walk up towards Shin Nonhyeon station. YOu will see a big swiss cheese looking building. The alley behind that building has a lot of great BBQ meat places. |

The area around Kangnam Station might not be exactly what you want, but that's the magic of being at a subway station. Hop on the subway and head just a few stops away and you are more likely to find more simple meat-n-soju places. I know there are a lot around Isu (Chongshin U) but I doubt you'd even have to go that far. |

I told you. go to Shin Nonhyeon station. It is on the same street at Gangnam station and only a 5 minute walk. Look for a big building opposite Kyobo Tower that looks like giant Swiss Cheese. Go to the alley behind that building. You will find a crapload of Korean bbq restaurants that taste good.
That is where all the Koreans go. You type in 맛집" in gangnam and most of the websites and blogs will direct you to that area. They have very famous restaurants there.

Yeah most are overpriced from what I can tell. They do have a 갈매기살 chain joint - forget the name - up one of the alleys out of exit 7 that is a good chain for cheap meat eats, but the owner was an ass to a friend and I when we went there so I hesitate to recommend that branch.
I've walked down that street behind the swiss cheese building pkang0202 mentioned and it's probably more what you're looking for. Less glitz and glamour, probably affordable as well. Haven't eaten there but it has the right vibe. |

there are tons of good places around there. i should know, i live right there. there is an awesome place that has incredible galmegisal and a place almost directly across from it that has great samgyeupsal on the same street as the subway sandwich place which is in turn very close to the actual subway. |

Are you not familiar with how forums work? I'm sure the OP took your recommendation on board, but would welcome further suggestions from other forum users. Should we just close this thread now that you've revealed this magical alley?
There's an amazing restaurant that specializes in thin samgyeopsal, bibmbap, and the tastiest doenjang jjigae I've ever tried. From Exit 11 at Gangnam Station, walk forward and take a right up the narrow street just before the CGV cinema. At the junction, go diagonally forward and up to the right, up a pretty steep hill. The place is on the left.
Sorry for the poor directions, and I can't remember the name of the place. Anyway, it's a nice place, and it has a good lively atmosphere for feasting and cracking into the soju. It's always full of Koreans, so evidently they don't all go to Swiss Cheese Alley. Enjoy!

Weak. Anyone who knows anything about Gangnam knows that the area is not known for their "food". Anything from Kyobo Tower to Gangnam Station is crap. They charge you up the behind for food that is just "OK". |

Haha. Okay mate, my taste buds are lying to me. I know many people that love this particular place, mostly Koreans. Don't know why you're getting your panties in a twist. We're just recommending restaurants here after all. Settle down. EVERY SINGLE PLACE BETWEEN KYOBO AND GANGNAM STATION IS CRAP! Okidoki. |
