| I did my fingerprints today at a local police station in Korea. The man who did it folded my paper. I asked him not to, but he claimed it was better for getting clearer fingerprints. Well, I find out the FBI usually rejects folded papers. Anyone send a folded paper and get it accepted, or should I just do a new set of fingerprints somewhere else? |

| Do you guys know which form you need for an FBI live scan rolling background check? I want to get it done in the states and I can only find the ink fingerprint form. Thanks. |

Was your fingerprint card folded?.... if so, on the lines or did the fold go aross the prints as well? |

| The man who did mine folded the paper. It seemed to be easier to get a clear print that way. FBI took it fine. |

On the lines, of course. He folded the paper around a ruler to get a better roll. |

| I too had my card printed on a standard A4. He folded it against a ruler as well. |

I am just worried, because the fingerprints on the bottom (four fingers) have a fold going across them.
If the fingerprints are rejected by the FBI, do you still need to pay for it? |

My understanding is that you can send a new set of prints if they don't get a match on the ones you send. |

The FBI can mail the standard fingerprint cards for free. Only takes about 3 days. Not sure they mail international, but you can have them mailed to someone back home and then they can mail the card (or cards - i'd get more than one) to you in Korea.
Then you don't have to worry about anything being folded. |

?! You don't want a match. That means you have a record.  They just need prints they can read.
The first set of prints I sent in were rejected and they allowed me to submit another set at no additional charge. They provide a slip of paper to include when you mail the new set that notifies them not to charge you again. |

After calling the FBI office I was told that doing additional copies betters your chance of having a collective set of legible prints... basically meaning, the FBI needs legible prints for ever finger... they can derive those prints from three separate pages if any of the prints were smudged on one particular page. Sending 3 pages of prints does not cost you any more money and triples your success rate. |
