| I am ending my contract early and going to another school in about a week. It states in my contract that if I end early then I will have to pay the airfare back which is ok. My new employer will do that. In case my current employer refuses to sign I will hold the airfare ransom and start the crc process over again and just leave my hagwon. Does anyone know the best way to go about this??? |

If you can leave on terms that will allow you a LOR then the transfer process is easy.
If you cannot leave on terms that are acceptable to you and your employer then:
a) Quit. Exit Korea. Hand in your ARC on the way out - this cancels your current status of sojourn.
b) Re-enter Korea as a tourist and begin the visa process from scratch.
c) Do a visa run to get your new visa.
d) Return and start work.

 - Thanks Tom I needed that!
OP if you want to do the visa run, be warned you will likely need some new paperwork like CRC, degree verification, etc. All which take some time to get. |

| Take some time I know about 2 months or longer but if I am not mistaken the tourist visa is 90 days. Also is Japan the chepeast and closet visa run idea? |

Japan is the closest but not necessarily the fastest or cheapest.
Often (except at peak vacation times) you can get discount tickets to the Philippines for as little as 250k won return.
To leave, cancel the visa, and return you can do it on the same day.
Exit Korea. Hand in your ARC.
Fly somewhere.
Return on the next flight.
Enter and get your 90 day stamp.
Look for a new job.
OR
Leave, hand in your ARC. Spend a month or two on the beach in the Philippines or Thailand (cheap flights and hotels at the moment).
Look for a new job at your convenience.
Return on a new visa and start work.
Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.
