| I've only been in the country for about 2 weeks now, I recently saw an a campaign about checking for skin cancer, especially if you've had a new mole appear. In the past few months I had a new, rather large non-symmetrical mole appear on my skin which seemingly has gotten larger and I'd very much like to get it checked out. I don't yet have my ARC or health insurance card, so I'm not really sure what the procedure is. I figure I'll ask one of my Korean co-workers for advice because I'd most likely need a Korean's assistance, but I figured people on Dave's might have some good advice as well. I'm in Suwon right now, and would like to get this sorted out right quick. |

Insurance aside (if you are at a hagwan you probably won't get any) go to Aju University hospital or St. Vincent's.
You need your passport and a bucket load of cash (probably 300-500k).
If you think you may actually get your NHIC through your work then get on it. Push your boss to get your ARC and apply for your medical. It will take about 6-8 weeks to get them both done and your NHIC booklet in your hand.

| My company does provide (Its not the NHIC) but I already went in for the blood/urine tests and what-not, and my contract does state I do get insurance, and from what I've seen so far, this school isn't one that screws people over or tries to cut costs to earn extra pennies. |

If you won't be enrolled in the NHIC then your schools is already screwing you (NHIC is required by law for all legal (have a visa) and registered (have an ARC) foreign employees).

| Hey TTompatz. Just for clarity's sake. Even with NHIC is it going to be 300-400 dollars? Or with NHIC it's probably a lot less? I have been exposed to a shit load of sun as a child might want to get myself a quick once over. Do you have to have a specific spot or can I get like a full body (that's what she said?!?!). |

It'll be 1/2 or less depending on the tests they do and whether you go to the international desk or just the regular one. (international desks are usually twice as much for the identical service - usually by the same doctor).
