I am working with a company that I have to fight with to deal with pay. The company continues to blame everything on the recruiter that I worked with. It's kind of frustrating. Anyways, I was recently told that I would have to spend 1 Sunday during January at a testing facility. I understand that it is just one day, but the point is that I was not asked, I was told, and Sundays are outside my contract. Sometimes, there might be a Saturday, but I was pretty sure that Sundays were off limits. Any advice?

If 1 day is the only problem, I wouldn't worry about it. Are there other problems? Do you have 10 vacation days? Do you work 8 hours or less per day?

You'll need more problems to make it worth fighting for.

You fight with them for pay? I think that's a terrible thing. Throw the contract at them if you're right. Maybe they'll at least pay correctly from now on.

You're pretty sure? What does "pretty sure" mean? Take a look at your contract. It should make things "pretty clear".

But really, if it was only about 1 day, then I'd just do it (if they told you enough time in advance) and ask them if you can have Friday off (or another day useful to you). If you fight about it, then you might win. But chances are you'll get sacked for something else, and in the mean time your life there will be miserable. The boss will make sure of it.
