Okay, so let's say the system is "badly damaged/corrupted", and many in Korea currently believe so. Is the current system rectifying things? Just because kids see an NET [for the most part, unskilled and not bonafide] once a week, are their school experiences and their English education all that much better? |
From my own experience, is it better for Korean students to take dictation & translation quizzes from a KET instead of answering questions from or having conversations with a NET? |

If the system weren't so badly damaged/corrupted and if bonafide teachers were hired, co-teachers would be unnecessary. |

We had some students at my school take a PELT test last month. The first round was the listening part and the questions were multiple choice and they had to write a once sentance answer. Most of the students taking the test said it was easy.
The second round was speaking and writing. They said this was the most difficult part of the test. |

Your sentence made no sense. You start it off with a dependent clause stating your experience and then you append an unrelated question within an independent clause.

Didn't mean to add the "c" into the word. But, then not everyone is perfect and people do make mistakes. |

FYI, the word is sentence, not "sentance". |

Actually, the vast majority of NETs in Korea, even the ones teaching at universities, could not write a grammatically-error free paragraph if their lives depended on it. I can almost guarantee you, most of them barely attained a C in their English courses in college, however, that's not the primary issue phasing out NETs in Korea.
The primary reason, as mentioned on numerous occasions, are the budget shortfalls in conjunction with the perceived inefficacy of the NETs. I would surmise inadequate grammar would be in the top five reasons, however. |

What would the other four reasons be? |

You should be able to ascertain 3 reasons from my posting: budget shortfalls, inefficacy of the NETs, and inadequate grammar. That should leave you inquiring about two more reasons. Anyhow, I'll allow you to conjecture what the other two might be. |

Errr no we dont require an extra teacher. Korean law requires another teacher to be in the room alongside us, not us!!!!
And some of us can speak Korean well enough without needing the 'aid' of a co-teacher alongside us.
Your last comment is a redundant point altogether. A ten year old could counter that comment.

I'm so sick of hearing about how much we cost. How much do Korean teachers cost after a few years experience? How much do Korean conversation teachers cost? |
The issue keeps being brought up because it's so pertinent and at the core of the issue. Duh!
Korean teachers are in the room by themselves! You, on the other hand, require another teacher to be in the classroom with you. The day you're in a Korean classroom by yourself and don't require an interpreter is the day you can start whining about others complaining about you being an unnecessary expense.
Would you want to pay extra education costs in your country to support a native Spanish or French teacher to accompany the Spanish and French teachers at your local high school? Exactly... |

So Sherlock, if we are this unproductive do you have any reason why they have kept us here for so long and didn't dispense of us earlier??
