Are the requirements for processing the E-1 visa the same as the E-2?

Do E-1 holders need to do the FBI Criminal Investigation background check or do only E-2 visa applicants do that?

Currently, E1 holders do NOT need to do the CBC and apostilles of their documents.

E2 and E7 (working with kids) do have to do them either as part of the visa process (E2) or the registration process (all "teachers").

E1s, as visiting/guest lecturers/professors, are not in the same category.
