|
|
My school is making my life utter hell. I want to take them to the Labour Board, but my contract is up in a few weeks. Can I wait until I've left the school before beginning proceedings with the Labour Board? If I commence with them now they could make my life hell, and deny me a release letter.
I could do without the stress. So please tell me that it's possible to fight my case after I've left the fine, reputable establishment at which I am so blessed to be employed.
Thanks in advance,
Smithington

I would wait to get the release letter. If you are justly owed something, I think you have 2 years to collect on it. Get to a new school and then do what you have to do.
You might want to tell us more about your situation. |

You say your contract is almost up. How soon is "almost up"? Once your contract is finished, you do not need a release letter. And, yes, it's possible to fight and win after you've left the school. My coworkers and I did that after we left a hagweon. One coworker had even left the country and he still prevailed. |

You don't need a release letter if your contract is complete. |

Would be interesting to see what they did. |

I am not completing my contract at the hogwan. I can't go into details at the moment, but I have quit - and the school is playing dirty. If I go to the Labour Board now they might notch it up a bit. I prefer to wait until I'm well away from this school.
Cheers. |

Sorry, I've one more question. After getting fired I believe that we can 'transfer' our visa to another school. Does anyone know what the time period is? Must the transfer be immediate, or can there be a gap of a few weeks? At what point does the visa expire and we have to go through the whole immigration process again? (If so, do Canadians still need to have any new CBC's notarized? In July they didn't seem to require it when I went to the embassy in Canada. But things change from week to week here...)
Thank you very much for any informed information.
