As I understand it, for an E-2 visa now, we need to a make a photocopy of our degree and have it notarized, then taken for the apostille. Is all that right? |

yes.
Photocopy, notary certified as a "true copy" then sent for an apostille.

In the UK a Notary Public will be able to certify a copy of the Degree if he has sight of the original and verifies its authenticity.
A solicitor will certify a copy as a true copy of the document produced to him.
A solicitor will therefore not charge as much.
It seems that the South Korean authorities accept the solciitors certifyicate.
The copy then has to have an apostille. |

@ttompatz, what's your opinion on authentication services? In the US that is. I've read some heated debates on which ones to use or to avoid but I'm still not sure. Can you recommend any? Thanks. |

Never used one (other than the USPS). I can't offer anything constructive other than family-feet or time, patience and the post office.

Okay. Cool. Yeah, I have about a month to get it done and I'm in Korea, so I think I'll give one of them a try. |
