Mine is to leave the ESL Cafe forums. These words will inspire me:

for the most part, Dave's is a bunch of people who really don't know what they are talking about, looking for fights and debates and just talking past each other.

carry on flaming the OP; it is Dave's after all. It is much easier to tear down then it is to build up.

Which is why I will offer one more bit of advice for the newbie - don't go to Dave's to air out your problems or give your advice. It is like Jerry Springer here. You are not going to get good advice.

Reading the topic title, a million ideas regarding my New Year's resolutions popped into mind, and I therefore proceeded to click the link to this thread prepared to share my heart's hopes and dreams. To my surprise, it turned out to be a rant thread.

I've been tricked. Confused

It's OK, man. You can share your hopes and dreams here.

And actually, there are some great things about these forums, such as the direct relevance to our lives.

But for me personally (and it was a close call) I think visiting these forums do more harm than good (by wasting my time). They are not a total waste, but the bad and mediocre posters drag down the quality to the point I think coming here is no longer a good decision.

I really want to do everything in life to maximize my productivity, which is why I am jetting. (And no, it is not easy to quit; I am hardcore addicted!)

Anyways, best wishes to you my friend. I hope you have a great 2012.

I wouldn't bother posting it on Dave's ESL though. Most people here have no soul.

It is what makes Dave's great.

I don't recall giving them my ARC number, as it's an American company, and I have an American credit card. I could be remembering it incorrectly, though.
