I have always had Bacchus F, and never had a problem with it. From what I have read it used to be called Bacchus D until the mid 90s. But today I went to a pharmacy and they only had boxes of Bacchus D. I guess they still make it? Any major differences?

There was a hoopla over this recently, because the government lifted rules that allowed it only to be sold in pharmacies. The Bacchus company owns the lions share of sales of such drinks in the market. The pharmacies make a great deal of money off of it, and there was a concern that they would balk and not carry the product out of spite if they lost sales once allowed to be sold in other places. So what the Bacchus company did was bring back the sale of the other letter (I forget which one is sold in pharmacies) and started-up an old plant again to make the old lettered drink. So one is sold in pharmacies, and the other is allowed to be sold in other stores now.

I might be wrong, but it almost sounded as if Bacchus makers were purposefully (and spitefully) painted in a corner out of jealousy, given how much control they have over the market. If I remember right, the legislation affected many other drinks, but the reality was that it was a move against the control/power of the company that makes Bacchus, because they commanded something like 90% of all sales of such products (again, I'm paraphrasing and mayb be off a bit). And one of the top dogs at Bacchus figured out this solution, and it worked.

At the time mid-2000's not 90's as the op stated, Bacchus was the only real Energy drink on the market.

It's just caffeine, sugar and amino acids. Some idiot foreigners also think/thought it contains Nicotine because they can read Hangul but have no idea what it means. It contains Nicotinsanamide which is Riboflavin.

These days there are tons of energy drinks on the market here, including Red Bull. The leading korean competitor is Hot Six.
