It's Christmas morning and I'm sitting here working with a student right now. Anybody else feel like a loser on Christmas?

Every year I get mostly Jewish and Muslim students that keep harassing me for weeks on end to give them Christmas, because as far as they are concerned, it is a day they have off. Plus, it's my busy season right now when I have to work day and night seven days a week. I even had one particularly persistent Jewish girl ask on Christmas Eve begging me whether I would reconsider working the next day and an Armenian girl who sent an email telling me that she wanted to go phone tutoring if I had even an hour to spare. However, this year I had a girl who would be leaving back to college early, so we needed to meet as much as possible before she had to go. Otherwise, it would put a serious kink into her scheduling for the rest of the year.

Funny thing about this student is that she is a rare Jewish/Muslim combo: mother is Jewish and father is Muslim. Jews consider you a Jew if your mother is Jewish and Muslims consider you Muslim if your father is Muslim. On top of that, her mother converted to Islam to marry him (they lived in a Muslim country at the time), but they only practice Judaism. Laughing

Yeah, I did a Comic Con on the 24th/25th - quite busy there, surprisingly.

Um, at the risk of sounding stupid, did you go there as "Captain Corea"?
Or were you just kidding?
