If you are not from Canada, US or Australia, then no pension is a good thing as you won't get it back.

If you are from one of those countries then you can't lose out. All you need to do is go to the pension office at the end of your contract and show proof that you taught and how much money you earned. Show your contract and pay stubs or bank statements showing pay.

Then, the pension office will visit your previous school. You will have to pay your portion and the school will have to pay their portion and the give you the total.

You've now doubled your money without having $100/month deducted from your pay for a year.

Win! Win!

In theory.

A place that is willing to do one illegal thing and lie and say it's legal will likely do other illegal things to save themselves money too. So you still might get screwed over even if you can't get back your pension money.
