I was told that my school ( A franchise employing four Korean teachers and two native teachers.) is losing money and that I would be let go 8 months in.
Student enrollment hasn't declined egregiously and I am of the mind that the momentary drop is likely something that occurs each year when Middle School students move on. Do you think my school is simply trying to get out of the severance and airfare or am I being paranoid? ( My job performance gasn't always been stellar, but I haven't received any written warnings and have not done anything that warrants immediate dismissal. )
Is my boss being deceptive? Should I simply accept the buyout and move on or should I fight to remain employed? What do you think? |

They are not obligated to keep you. Find another school, get the letter of release. Then, after you have moved out completely and everything is changed in your passport to your new employer, go to the pension office and make sure the first school has contributed. If not, show them the contract and you may have to pay for your half. They will go after the first school. |

30 days notice and they have met their obligation under labor law to release you. If your contract says different (not usually for termination) then it may allow more time - but I doubt it.
Get a LOR and move on to the next job.
