I am going from Seoul > Thailand > Australia > Seoul and need a good agency so I don't get ripped off.

If anyone knows a good one please let me know! I'm planning on traveling Jan. 30-Feb. 20

www.booking.com, www.agoda.com or www.hostelworld.com for hotel and hostel deals.

www.nextour.co.kr or www.kayak.com for plane tickets.

Google for planning out how you get everywhere.

Why would you want to pay commission to a travel agent who will probably end up using the exact same sites I just wrote about above?

You are aware that 3 one-way legs will likely cost you more than 2 round trip tickets?

I would look at ICN-BKK out , BKK-(Australia) out
(Australia)-BKK return, BKK-Seoul. return

so in effect you have 2 round trip tickets rather than 3-one way legs.

The cost saving could be as much as 50%.

Price shop from a few websites or even a couple of the airlines themselves. eg: Thai air was booking some pretty cheap tix recently on their website.

I got tickets for a week and a half to Cambodia in late January, $510 round trip using Orbitz through Kayak using my American bank card. Every Korean agency I tried, including Shoestring and Xanadu, wanted well more than 1 million AND tried to force me to travel on days other than my stated preference. Book yourself, DON'T use a Korean card if at all possible.

I DID use Xanadu for another trip to China though, as going through the absurd ringamarole for a tourist visa to the People's Republic is bad enough even with help, and we Americans have to pay the special 190,000 either way Rolling Eyes

My current flight Roundtrip (using Thai air) from Seoul to Phuket is around 900,000 while if I do Phuket to Sydney Roundtrip it would also be around 900,000.

Ilsan travel quoted me for around 1,800,000 Seoul > Phuket > Sydney > Seoul so that might be my best bet. Anyone find a lower price?

Either I suck at this, or it just isn't in the cards for lower than 1.7 mil.
