Thanks UM.

I'm curious for those who happen to be following this thread or have worked here for some/many of those years what the relationship was like between NET"s and KT's in the past?

My impression from others and half of my experience in Korea is the relationship has soured in recent years. It's also my impression that KT's have never really been on board with the plan. Aside from the economic issues, which I think are real, I wonder if this hasn't been a fatal flaw in the program(s) all along?

May I ask, when did KORETTA come into existence or was that just renamed to EPIK around 2004-5?

KORETTA came into existence in 1995 and ended around 1997...I believe it might have been taken over by EPIK. However it wasn't standardized...some places still persisted with old KORETTA contracts and calling it that.

Don't have a link but I could probably dig one up if you are really interested.

I can only speak for myself but it's been fairly uniformly good. Three years at one school and two at the next. I don't think I would have been re-signed if they'd hated me. In fact at the first school they asked me if I wanted to stay for a 4th year...I wanted to move on though...nothing wrong with the school per se I just wanted a new experience. In retrospect I probably should have stayed. Oh well.

Thanks for the feedback UM. Sounds like you had that somewhat rare combo of playing your cards well and some luck to make it work.
