I took my wife to Kitchen in Sinsa for her birthday dinner last night.
Fusion Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in Seoul, but most of them leave more than a little to be desired.
Kitchen is a diamond in the rough.
Everything was perfect--the wood-burning stove, the modern decor, the spectacular salad, the Italian wine, the pizza and veal. Just splendid.
I highly recommend. |

I enjoy Primo Bacio Baci in Hongdae (with branches in Myeongdong & Gangnam)
Always a wait-list, prices are reasonable
12 thou for pizza and up. 12 thou for the pasta-bread. |

Kitchen is a little pricier, but I felt the food was good enough to justify the expense. I think we paid about 130,000 which included a bottle of wine--and I ordered the special veal. Pizzas were perhaps 20-25K.
I've eaten at numerous Italian restaurants in Korea, and I can say without hesitation that this was the best I've had.
Actually, I popped into the JW Marriott on Saturday and saw the menu for their Italian restaurant--I forget the name of it. Has anyone eaten there? It looked fantastic! |

If you're ever in Daegu there is a place called Napoli. The owner/chef is Italian and has been here for about 10 years. It's good stuff. Expensive but he imports all of his wines and alot of other things from Italy, grows his own herbs and vegetables, and makes his own ice cream and chocolate. |

Next time I'm in Daegu, I will definitely keep this in mind. Are reservations required/recommended? |

I've been meaning to check out Kitchen at some point! Thanks for the review. I was going to go on the 24th with some friends, but they had a set menu that night that cost over 100,000 per head.. yikes!
Definitely want to try at some point, though! |

I like Sortino in Itaewon also...but I think Kitchen has better variety. Sortino does the bolognese very, very well...but Kitchen has a broader perspective.

| Il Sole in Busan has pretty nice Italian food. Nothing to write home about but they have nice handmade pastas (and the sauces are thicker). Sort of like homemade food with fancy furniture. Bit expensive but the view is amazing. |

From my own personal experience, I would recommend Jina and Franco near Seoul National University and Sempre Bene in Suwon's Ingyedong. |

in soramal,( french quarter) he is Italian and the owner. and not to mention a great chef.

Jina and Franco is really good, especially given the prices. |
