Okay, I recently tried out some new regulation "loop holes" that aren't really loop holes. I will post the new regulations here and explain.

FIRST RULE:
If a foreigner hands in a criminal record check which covers the whole home country's information for the visa issuance application, and comes to Korea after getting the conversation teacher(E-2) visa the criminal record check document is able to be omitted when the foreigner wants to move to another workplace through a new visa issuance application.(This includes the situation such as, visa issuance application made after the foreigner left Korea. But, if the time period from leaving date up to entrance date with the new E-2 visa is more than 3 months criminal record check is needed when alien registration application is made. )

So recently I finished an e2 contract, went back to Canada for a month. Came back. Found a new job and DID NOT have to hand in a new criminal record check. This only works if you have a national criminal record check and it has been apostilled/notarized and stamped by the consulate. You have 3 months from the end of your contract to get a new visa issuance number even though that's not what it says in the brackets.

SECOND RULE:

- If a foreigner hands in a degree certificate for the visa issuance application, and comes to Korea after getting the conversation teacher(E-2) visa, if the document is made as data in the immigration system the degree certificate is able to be omitted when the foreigner wants to move to another workplace through a new visa issuance application.

Also I did not have to hand in a new degree. So basically all I had to hand in was 2 photos, a visa application form, self-medical checklist and also Korean immigration made me write a letter about what I have been doing in Korea while not working (this came after i handed in all my docs). Hope this helps some people. Also my crc was not from the rcmp it was from the Winnipeg police department but stated on it that it encompassed the national database. Hope this helps some people. Good luck.

Ah! Also, many jobs/recruiters don't know about this but you can show them the rules... they are on www.hikorea.go.kr

you can also find the korean version. I printed out the rules and highlighted them for the immigration officer just in case. When I called I got a different answer every time about how successful I would be if I tried this but it CAN be done.
