Hey there,
In one week we'll be headed up to Seoul for our 1-year anniversary. We'd love to stay in a place that has a nice jacuzzi or whirlpool bathtub (western size, big enough for 2 people to be comfy!).

We're fine with love hotels, as they have some nice rooms for under 80,000, but we'd like to stay in Seoul, rather than an outskirting suburb like Bundang or Suwon, etc.

If you know if a great place to stay, please help us out. Name, location, price, ammenities, etc. We really appreciate it!

ps, any suggestions for a good meal? We're planning on going to Mad for Garlic (it's so good), but we'll be in Seoul 2 days, so another suggestion would be cool. Thanks again!

I know of a really good love hotel in the Jamshil area that is named Raja hotel. It was a really swank place for 50,000 won/night (30,000 part time) Wink but I was impressed with it.
I don't have their info anymore, but if you called the KNTO, they'll help you. They were the ones who recommended it.

Near Apkujung station, or at least there is one there. I don't know if there is more. As you walk to Galleria from the station, it is on the left.

Jamshil...ok. Katydid, does it have a nice tub? We have a really small apartment and only a showerhead. We'd love to soak in a whirlpool. Smile

Zzyzzzzz.....this is for you:

Very Happy Mocha's doing great.

Mad For Garlic is still there in Apkujung...never had anything there that wasn't good and the setting is great. It's like a wine cellar with dim lighting, wooden tables and just a good, overall ambiance.

Yeah, as far as I can remember it had some kind of small tub/whirpool/Jacuzzi thing and one of those funny showerheads, where you could choose to only was your body, head or feet.
Well, whatever floats one's boat, I guess. Smile

I have always intended to go to Mad for Garlic but never have. Is it a good place and what do they serve? Price?

It's an Italian wine bistro, and it's a lot better than the pictures look on the Internet. Sometimes you can go to a restaurant in Korea and it's a "non-Korean" restaurant, but it sucks because they don't know how to really make the food. This is not one of those places. They really do a good job of making great Italian food. I really love the crab and lobster pasta, and the steamed garlic clams are awesome, too. My friend got the beef and brocolli and it was good, too.

They have a garlic bread, but it's like a loaf of bread, hollowed out and filled with garlic pate--it was actually a bit too much for us! I think most of their dishes do have garlic. Mmm!

Prices? Around 15,000-25,000 per entree. Check out the website--some is Korean, but there's enough English that anyone can navigate it.

If you want a plethora of love hotels, Songpa-gu, right across from Olympic Park, there are about 30 love hotels within walking distance of each other. Some are less than a year old. I haven't been to any of them, but I have walked by many of them. If you are going that way, they are worth a look. Smile
