I am preparing for an event where i may need to change hogwons. From previous posts, it seems that if the employer refuses to write a LOR for me, i will essentially be forced to start the application from scratch.

These are the backup documents i will be bringing:
1. Police Check
2. Original Diploma
3. Sealed Transcript

Is this a good plan?
Do you think i should also do the notarization and apostilling/consular seal and stamping at embassy before i go? Or do you think i should do this in Korea if the time comes?

It would be tough to time a CBC for a potential runner. If that's a route you want to go in, applying for one right before you leave home is probably your best bet, or perhaps a month before. A lot of potential shenanigans might happen later in your contract, so coming with CBC in hand isn't particularly useful.

I arrived in Korea with extra sealed grade transcripts (which I have not used).

Plus extra apostilled diploma copies, but they were cheap and easy for me to obtain. I have had occasion to use one.

A friend of mine from the USA lasted just a few months in South Korea and ended up happily moving to Thailand where he recently got his second job using an extra criminal background check from 2010 (now expired and useless by South Korean standards).

When I was preparing to come to Korea and was collecting my letters of recommendation, I asked for multiple originals (ink signature) from each reference, for possible future use, in case things did not work out for me in South Korea (which they have).
