Interesting list I found that includes going to the coffee shop, bottled water, incandescent light bulbs and landline phones.

The only point I found slightly relevant was cutting out cable TV. It has gotten to the point where watching TV shows on the Internet is more convenient than watching TV. This has been true for some shows for quite a while, but I feel like we are reaching the point where the few things you miss out on are quite minor.

His disposable water and making baby food suggestions seems like major inconveniences for very small savings. Skipping the land line became a trend many years ago and shouldn't be on a list for 2012.

8/10 are things I already don't pay for. Coffee shops and water bottles are convenient when away from home, maybe a few times a month.

Many still have landlines because landlines don't run out of battery.

I agree with cable/satellite TV though. I really don't like watching stuff on a PC monitor and I love having the YouTube function on my Blu Ray player that allows it to be shown on my plasma.

Surprised porn isn't on the list. Then again, it is yahoo news...not much to do with reality.

books--check out library e-books from hometown local library, and stop wasting money on books you will have to get rid of before you leave.

I tried using an internet based phone, but they suck. I do a lot of phone tutoring and so if my internet connection went down, I wouldn't be able to work. Also I found that when your internet connection went down, you couldn't call 911 and you couldn't contact the internet provider to ask when it was expected to come back online. Furthermore, the connection quality was often quite poor.

Landlines cost me more than twice the monthly price, but I've learned to accept it as a cost of doing business.
