You make some good points.
I just want to say, (for the sale of balance), that it is possible to get a uni job without a post grad. |
In 2011/2012? Very unlikely. In the past (even one or two years ago) it happened often. |
May be an anomaly, but...

A 2012 job posting for a uni not requiring an MA.

Read that carefully again. I bolded the relevant parts

Andong National University Language Center (ANULC) is looking for well-qualified, experienced full-time English instructors for the Spring Semester, 2012 through Fall Semester, 2012. ANULC is in charge of teaching required freshman English conversation classes as well as a limited number of upper-level classes and institute-type classes. The majority of our typical teaching load consists of freshman English classes with several institute-type classes.
We have vacation programs as well that consist of institute-type classes and various camp programs |
As for the second position a B.A. is not all you need

| Bachelor's degree holders should also have over 3 years teaching or research experience in a 4-year college, university, government agency or research institute. |
You need to have several years teaching or research experience at a university level or higher as well. Experience at hakwons/public schools won't cut it.
And all that for a non-tenure track position.
So one's basically a uniwon and the other demands additional qualifications in addition to the B.A. |
