Just starting the process for my March 2012 visa renewal. Pretty sure I procrastinated too long and am not going to get my documents back in time, and am pretty well screwed.

This poll will either reaffirm my intuition or soothe my worries.

Please answer. Thank you.

it took me one month, i got it apostilled right after it was issued. now, the issuing took waaaaaay longer. but once you have the check, it shouldn't take that long to get it apostilled.

with that being said, try going to immigration (or calling them) and ask if you can start the E-2 process without all of your documents ready.

I went into the immigration office with JUST a contract and an FBI check. they started the process and told me to come back when i got the school's business registration, my medical check, and some other form signed. main point: they started my visa process without me having all my documents... so maybe you can get lucky too

i sent the documents from here, the tail end of sept. express (4 days) to west virginia, and had apostile pros do it, and i got it back dec 19, so about 2 and a 1/2 months and it cost me $290 for it all, and all I had to do was get my folks to mail it to the apostile place. totally worth it, and when i got the new visa, hassel free, they just took it and done. Actually , I didnt go to immi, my manager did. Didnt need me (ive been here a while though)

To get the FBI check apostlilled? One day. But I walked it in.

But you should have options that take less than one month if you use a courier.

You got a problem.

My FBI check took about 9 weeks and another week for the apostille. I used rushdocs for about $45 total with shipping in the USA that took about a week.
