Let me know what you think of this schedule for a first time teacher.
schedule: M-F 10:40-11:50; 19:30-20:40; 20:50-22:00
M,W, and every other Friday 6:30-7:40
As many private lessons as I want through the school at a 50/50 split |

Salary? Location? Housing? Insurance? Pension?
One other thing. They are not "privates" if you are splitting them with the school.
For a split shift schedule it is not bad. Late start. I would never do a split shift, but that's just me.
Is there any chance the director will change the schedule on you? |

1. Make sure you have enough money for 1.5 months and airfare if things go wrong.
2. If they are letting you do this in any location, then that probably means there are other teachers doing this as well. Talk to 3 of them to get an idea of what it's like. This is no guarantee, but at least it's better than nothing.
3. Make sure you have enough money for 1.5 months and airfare if things go wrong.
4. Would be interesting to see the contract. There is a contract thread in this forum where you can post yours for review.

When I said that it was in my preferred location, I didnt mean I can do it anywhere... I meant that it was in the general location of where I was looking to work, which was the Suwon area, along line 1.
I normally never even considered doing a split shift...but working for 3 1/2 hours half the time, and just under 5 the other half, was very appealing.
I just took the position, and will be out there (hopefully) at the end of the month. |

Make sure you're not req'd to hold "office hours and prepare materials" in between your "split" schedule. |
