Hey guys...
first time using 4g and I think my 3g plan with unlimited internet was way better.
I got the 3GB plan and I seem to be using the data up so fast.
Never thought it would go so quickly.
Could be settings but I dont think so.
If you sign a two yr. contract is there any way to get back on 3g ??
Love the super speed of 4g though |

basically no, as all 4g phones use the 4g price plans. It is still better than the god awful 500mb most british plans come with these days, even for 3G. There are some basic plans that SK and KT let people use with all phones, but they have no data allowance at all. So basically there is no unlimited option i am afraid - its why i haven't made the change yet - i am monitoring how much i use a month...is it reaaaaaly much faster? |

thats what I've been telling people who kept touting "Iphone sucks because its not 4G"
What's the point in LTE when you have to pay up the nose to use it? |

Yeah. 4G isn't worth paying much for. I'm pretty much always within a wireless hotspot, and even when I'm not the 3G speeds are fine.
I'll get on the 4G service when I upgrade to the Galaxy S3 this Spring.....but I'm not that excited about it. It's just another marketing device to sell more phones. |

I hope more and more people go to LTE so that 3G bandwidth opens up a bit. |

To anyone who already has a 4g phone -
how widespread is 4g coverage? How often do you find yourself in a spot where your 4g doesn't work? |

I live in Daejeon and always have a 4g signal. I don't think I've ever had it drop out in the 2 months I owned my phone. |

Thanks. That sounds pretty good already and presumably the service is going to keep getting more and more widespread.
Where have you been using it though? Just in Daejeon? How about if you go out of town? |

FYI, LTE is not 4G.
4G is not available yet. Marketers are allowed to use the 4G moniker with LTE because next generation LTE will be true 4G. |

while that is technically true it doesn't really help or relate to the op's original question. |

I'm on the same plan, but I get on the wifi at home, work and in most coffee shops. I don't think I've used over 500MB of data yet, and I am not a light-user. Make the most of wifi, it seriously helps. Free wifi is fairly common in Seoul, much more than in other cities I've visited. |

Just in Daejeon and the one time in Seoul. From what I understand, the LG LTE network is the most widespread at the moment if that helps. |

I'm also in daejeon and have never had it drop within city limits. Outside is another matter though, and the downside then is that you're paying for LTE data at a 3G rate.
When it's working properly though, it flies. When I was on 3G, I sometimes wouldn't bother looking at something because of the speed and screen size. Now, bigger screen, less fumbling with my clumsy thumbs, and the LTE speed makes it a genuine device for browsing, not just a plaything for the bus. |
