Indeed the D10 or 'bridging visa' is not widely known about. I've been here almost 8 years and onlt found out about it a cpl of years ago.
Teachers need to be aware of things like this as it helps with decision making should you be working for an exploitative employer. |

Yes, definitely. I cannot fathom why it hasn't been made a sticky yet. Here we have a visa which was created in order to protect foreign employees from abusive situations, one which allows them to find new and better employment without leaving the country, and the moderators haven't advertised it (and how easy it is to apply for) yet in a thread titled with caps only? |

Truth is not exaggeration, even if it is full of 'drama'. But thanks for the advice.
Think someone said it, but if I would of known it was that easy I never would have even made the thread. Stressed over nothing I guess, kinda whack, assuming the D10 is what I got from the simple immi visit. |

Simple steps.
a) labor.
b) immigration
c) recruiter (since you will need a job and place to live.)
You have done <b> (yes, if you were given more than 30 days and/or paid 50k won you have a D10).
I assume you have done <a> or will do it soon. You may need some money before long. Even a cheap goshiwan needs to be paid for.
<c> is next on your list.

How did you hear about it years ago? You didn't hear about it for 8 years because it didn't exist. The D-10 first became available 3-4 months ago. |

| So when the OP finds another job on this D-10 visa will he have to do a visa run and get a new CBC or will it just transfer over from his previous E2? |

Visa run and new CBC are both not necessary, as long as he finds a job before the D-10 expires. All it takes is a trip to immigration and 50,000 won to switch back to E-2. |

No. The Korean consulate in Toronto has had it on their list of visas for at least 2 years or so.

At less than 6 months into a labor contract there is no such thing.

Just a simple change of status from d10 to E2.
7 documents:
ARC (or receipt if he finds the job before his new ARC appears).
passport
contract
application
fees (50k won)
letter of sponsorship
business registration

I think it's more like it first became available to the average Joe, or at least entered the greater public conscience, 3-4 months ago. I've heard getting it used to be very stringent. |

You may feel like a puppet at the hands of a money grubbing hogwon owner, but that does not mean WE are.
Try to balance your drama with the truth....it'll help your cause a lot more. |
