The U.S. has an agreement with many other countries that in the unlikely event an evacuation is ordered from korea, non U.S. citizens will be evacuated along with U.S. citizens; some of those countries that I know of are Canada, Japan, England... don't know about those from down under, but I would not doubt that they get the same deal. Koreans? You stay in you own country unless you're married to a U.S. citizen. If a korean has a "green card," and happens to be in korea during the evacuation, still no guarantee that they will be evacuated. Anything is possible but they'd be at the bottom of the "to go" list. Way at the bottom! Hell, even if the American has a dog, that dog would go before the korean "green card" holder! |

God bless America.
Ah well, beats flying home in a Sea King! <CRASH> |
They expect us to pay to go home? Where do my tax dollars go? |

The same place where mine and every other taxpayers dollar goes
~~ into the pocket of some 20 year-old soldier going to Itaewon, or down-range, or into "the ville" to get hammered before he goes off to become a "self-propelled sandbag" in the hands of the N.Koreans.
Once we get to the states, we are stuck on a not-so cushy, comfortable Grey hound going somewhere.
Thats where our hard-earned tax dollars are going, unfortunately |

Your tax dollars are going 'unfortunatley' to a Soldier providing the umbrella of your safety and ability to even be in Korea?
Ingrate.

Just noticed that all the maps still use the old spelling of Korean cities. Or should I say that the US military version of Korean names. Ask a Korean where Taegu is and you get this . Ask where Daegu is and thats a different story. Is it that hard for them to just try and pronounce names close to how they should be?
I mean really, is it that hard to say day-gu? This pronunciation isnt totally correct but its a hell of a lot closer then Taegu.
Busan is another one. It comes out like Pooo-saan with both poo and san really drawn out.
Its not that English speakers cant pronounce the names of Korean cities correctly, just that they are too lazy to even try. |
