Not about how people sneeze, if they cover their mouth or not etc, this is about WHY we sneeze so much, does anyone know why?

It's not just me, but most people I know here , Korean or otherwise, sneeze a lot!! Personally I sneeze throughout the day and night and I find it quite bizarre how much I sneeze, regardless of whether I have a cold or not.

is there any special reason or am I simply going round the twist ?

i don't think i've noticed any disproportionate amount of sneezing here. strange that you'd say that given that it's winter...you'd think there'd be no allergens at all.

I've been sneezing more, also. I also notice more dust here (at least in my own apartment).

With the yellow sand from China and the constant widespread construction, you're living in one of the dustiest countries on Earth. Add all the pollution from cars etc and it's no wonder you're sneezing.

Dustier than Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Mongolia?

I would argue that the air quality in Seoul is not good, but to say the whole country is "dusty" is not accurate. I find the air quite pleasant in the countryside, which makes up the MAJORITY of the country.

I don't know, but I have to wipe a visible layer of dust off my desk every day.......something that I'd only do every couple of weeks back home.

Is there a dusty country league table? Laughing

Yes, poor air quality must be a factor. Also, HIGH DENSITY population must be a factor too. Lots of viruses passing between people in small spaces (subway, bus etc).

I found the air quality in Ulsan (supposedly the dirtiest city in Korea) to be quite nice (much better than Seoul) as long as you weren't in the southern industrial district.

And the air outside in the country is quite nice, too.
