I'm curious. I buy a kibble made of rice and lamb, and add some chopped-up, heated-up smoked duck. Once a week I fry him an egg and chop it up, instead of the duck. He also likes sliced apple, and always gets to lick the yogurt cup clean after I finish eating.

I have a bowl of dog mix always sitting there next to the water.
I usually feed them what ever I am eating.
I use to feed them chicken a lot, but they were eating more than me, was getting expensive haahaha
but I feed them what ever they like. they are always snacking on my food. |

My dog also always has some kibble near his water. I only eat seafood a couple of times a week, and never eat any other meats, so I try to vary his diet some and go out of my way to buy the smoked duck, and occasionally one of those rotisserie chickens from the truck just for him. When I do eat seafood, I always give him some. I'm considering making a pot roast/brisket, just so that I can freeze the gravy in zipper bags. He'll eat the meat first, and when that's done, he'll have gravy for a while, and I won't have to keep buying duck. |

For treats:
I brown sliced liver in a little butter on both sides, then cut it into small pieces.
I put beef kidneys in a colander in the sink and pour a pot of boiling water over them. Then put the rinsed kidneys back into the pot, cover with cold water, bing to a boil, then cover and turn off the heat. When cool enough to handle, cut it into bite sized pieces.
These are two of my dog's favorite foods. |

I poach a little free-range chicken in Merlot and then let it sit for 30 minutes to bask in its juices.
I prepare a butter coated skillet full of broccoli, onion carrots and truffles and cook them until soft/translucent.
I then pull out the beef stock I toiled 24 hours over and scoop out about 2-3 cups and simmer it down to about 1/2. I add some butter to glaze it and give it a nice sheen (its good for his coat) and add a little extra Merlot for flavoring.
I peel the meat off the duck, pour out the truffle/veggy mixture and put it all on a plate/bowl, then drizzle the thick, concentrated beef stock all over it.
He loves it!
I do it 7 days a week.
What are you guys talking about? Give him some dog food with a treat of chicken scraps throughout the week.
No need to go all crazy spending money like you do. |

Died By Bear, kidneys sound like a great idea. He's had liver, but I find that it's sometimes hard to find cow liver. I'll look into that. I'm trying to vary his diet. 1 week he'll eat a lot of this, and the next week I'll change it up. The kibble always remains the same, because it's a pretty healthy variety and he likes it, but he LOVES it when it has something nice mixed in.
Dodge7, canned dog food is garbage, unless you're spending a fortune on the specialized stuff, and even then it's healthier to buy fresh food and give the dog a chewable multivitamin (pretty cheap at under 20 bucks for 6 months' worth.) I don't spend a fortune on smoked duck and chicken. A whole chicken is 6 or 7 thousand won, and that lasts him days, because he's a small dude at just under 5kg. Half a duck is 12 or 13 thousand won, and I freeze it in 2 day portions, so it lasts just over a week. I heat and chop it up and add it to his kibble, and he loves it. A brisket would cost me about 10k, and I'd have more gravy than 10k in canned crappy dog food would provide. It's maybe 5-7k more per week to feed my dog fresh food that is usually already or close to prepared. That's hardly a lot of work or money.
My husband is vegetarian and I only eat seafood a couple of times a week, so there are few scraps to give. I don't mind handling meat, but I don't eat it myself, hence buying it for the dog. At least the duck and brisket smells good. That canned stuff makes me want to vomit when I open it up.
It's about health. I wouldn't feed my future kids McDs on a regular basis (or at all, but that's a different story,) so why would I want to feed my dog the equivalent? |

NYC, You're likely aware, but for those that are not, please don't feed apple seeds to your dogs. They contain cyanide.
I know that Dodge is joking, but for those that feed onions to your dogs, stop. They are toxic for them.
I switch the ingredients around, but it's usually a combo of 3 or 4 of these: Orijen (fish), Taste of the Wild (bison), brown rice, wild rice, yams, sweet potatoes, potatoes, steak, chicken, fish, eggs, apples, mellons, broccoli, cabbage, honey yogurt, and cashews. I go easy on the yogurt, fruits, vegetables (except tubers), and cashews to keep her digestive system happy. |

Yeah. I got lucky with my dog when I was a kid, though. I used to hate onions in all forms (now I only hate them raw) and would sneak them to the dog so my mom wouldn't know that I hadn't eaten them. I had no idea how lucky it was that he never got sick from them until years later. Whew! |

If you'd like to source it for your doggie, I'd be happy to help. Email me and I'll send you the links. I tried posting them but got the message, "No links in posts - Admin." |

If Korea sells turkey, whatever you do, do not feed you little buddy turkey, it's dangerous for him. Chicken is ok. I know that I could get turkey in the past at a restaurant. |
