So next week my students have their mid term tests. Can someone please explain to me what is the rationality of kids being in school until after 11 doing homework until 1 getting a few hours of sleep and then getting up again only to fall asleep in regular class?

It's not like there is a huge tradition of moms going to work here so it's not like there isn't someone at home to supervise the kids when they do their homework.

I wish the government would start putting some energy into enforcing the rule that hogwons aren't supposed to be open after 10.

Different rules, different hogwans. Ipshis can remain open until 0100hrs and study rooms until 0100hrs also. English hogwans, art, maths ect are governed by the 2200hrs closure. Not that many pay any heed to this. Smile

Can you believe I got in trouble last week for this. I knew my Middle school students had exams, I told them their hagwan homework wasn't as important as their exams, so not to sweat it. i.e. don't do it.
Someone narked and I got hauled in.
