So someone asked him what his salary was and he said he had six cars? If you can think of a way of volunteering the information that you own six cars on a forum for TEFL teachers (which he did) without it being bragging, you're as much in denial as him. |
Here is one of these threads

3. I've been through this before on this forum. At first everyone calls me a liar. Then I'll post some proof to show I am not lying (last time I provided evidence of the $120,000 I spent on cars last year). Then everyone goes ballistic and claims I'm bragging, completely forgetting that I was merely responding to claims that I was a liar. So as far as I'm concerned it's a pointless exercise. Believe me if you'd like. But if you're the type to get all upset that someone else is successful in life, then it's better to assume we are all poor on Dave's. |
Hmm seems he was bang on target.
(bolding mine)
Just prior to that quote he was discussing salary. So when people disbelieve his salary he displays physical proof in the form of his cars.
Now he may have been bragging about his salary but as far as I can see the cars were introduced to back up his claim. It is questionable whether it is bragging if he is telling the truth and was RESPONDING to claims that he was lying.
If he merely popped into a thread to go "Hey I have six cars" then yes that would be bragging. Not the case here. |

Staying here has been because of mountains, fresh veggies, nice savings potential, and easy access to Japan and China. |

Why is what his salary is or how many cars he has relevant at all? Why should he ever have to bring it up? People discuss TEFL salaries on this TEFL website so they find out what the going rate is at different TEFL institutions or how much you can make in certain areas. From what I gather he teaches posh kids how to get into law school or something in California Why would he need to bring up anything about how much money he makes except to brag and try and lord it over people? And then call them losers when they react?
Actually to be fair he hasn't done that for a while so I was a bit surprised to see a return to the bad old days on this thread. I thought he might have learned his lesson from the majority reaction he got the last time this was discussed. |

Where do you come from where the veggies are not as fresh as here ? From what I have seen here in terms of veggies and fruit is that they are very limited in choice and way overpriced. |
