Do you think Joe Montana would be successful in today's game?
Linebackers and D-linemen are much faster than his day. Also the corners/safeties are faster/better. At the same time, he the offensive weapons (receivers/tightends) would be just as improved. |

| Tee Martin never frightened anyone with his running. Accurate passer a smart quarterback , he did throw a great long ball was the perfect quarterback for that team. Remember Tebow never really had a great running back to work with. But Tebow haters do not care, they never look at the stats or titles. It is amazing that even when he has a good game and his team wins it is always the coaching or the weather or the other team did not eat breakfast it is never Tebow, So continue the hating. |
Wow, so many contradictory statements here.
Whether he worked with *a* great running back is immaterial. The running game at Florida was dominant while he was there. If you don't think that directly contributed to padding his stats as a passer, you just don't know football.

During his three years as a starter, his teams were no lower than third in the SEC, averaging over 200 yards rushing/game in all three years. So, once again, arguing that he didn't have a decent running BACK is immaterial. |

He'd probably have much better stats. The rules for what defenders are allowed to do to receivers are night and day different than what they were in Montana's era.
Don't believe me? Do you think it's a fluke that there were three QBs who went over 5000 yards passing this year? A feat that happened only once previously (in 2008) since the year Marino set the record in 1984? |

yeah i know nothing about the game or Tebow. He rushed for around 850 of those yards. he keyed the attack. I watched him play live five times and he was a wizard. he played on two national title teams won one heisman and most experts think he should have had two. Can you even name a Florida back from that era and Harvin does not count. Although he did rush the ball occasionaly, he was primarily a receiver. keep on hating though..
Montana in todays game , well he was incredibly accurate and his timing was fantastic. What made him so deadly was that he put the ball so perfectly that his receivers usually caught the ball going full stride which meant a lot of yards after the catch. Also I think his toughness and leadership ability would serve him well so I think he would be very effective in todays game. Elway of course would be just as dominant I think. Pro football has become more "pass ball". |

If you saw Tebow play live 5 times, you're probably a gator fan, which would explain your infatuation with Timmy. How many time you saw him play, how many TDs he scored in college, winning the Heisman, who his running backs were...these all have one thing in common: They have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on whether or not he can be a good QB in the NFL. |

Nope Volunteer, but have relative who played at Georgia so traveled to watched the Dawgs sometimes.
You are absolutely right the list of great college quarterbacks who failed in the NFl is long. No i am no super Tebow fan but not a hater. If someone does not think he is a good NFl quarterback okay!! But trying to go back and slam what the guy did in college???? Really mixing apples and oranges in a big way. Comparing him and newton is also lame. Newton had one year and stats wise it really did not stack up so well against Tebow. But even that is senseless different system different schedules playing against and with different talent.
maybe I think Tebow is special because i watched U.T with two first round draft picks on defense and other good talent on D, contain Florida all day w but time after time we would get them in third and long and stack the box with everybody but the towel boy and Tebow would convert. He just beat us down, he willed it. So maybe there is a bias. |
