I actually agree Tom. I don't have an issue with the OP's post. I think he/she should be able to talk about religion if they want. But to try to distance talking about the bible from talking about religion is a bit of a stretch for me.

The bible is the de facto manifesto of Jesus Christ. Christianity being the religion which it is all about. The Mods have banned threads on religion...........I wish they didn't. I think it's healthy to debate religion. For everyone concerned. Believers and disbelievers.

Maybe you mean that the OP has only suggested forming a group to discuss biblical stuff. Which, again, is cool with me. But the mods have banned threads about religion. Which I think the OP's post is largely about.

Talking about like minded people getting together is NOT talking about the topic. It is talking about meeting.

Talking about like minded people getting together to talk about a topic is NOT discussing the topic on the forum. Setting an agenda.

I see no difference between this and the meet-ups that the tech forum readers used to have at Starbucks in Yongsan. Arranging the meet and NOT discussing the topic itself (other than perhaps to mention an agenda) on the forum is NOT a TOS violation and is allowed and should be encouraged.

But the theme of the post is christianity....which is a religion. Verbodden.

Again, I think the OP should be allowed. It's the mods who said no posts about religion. Which this one surely is. Whether it's to arrange meetings IRL, or to discuss bible online, the theme of the post is still religious.

Basically the mods don't want anyone mentioning how Christianity operates in this country.

Other than that, u should be fine.

Discussing religion is an offense in terms of having religious discussion. Asking if people of your faith are around is harmless.
Those who want to use that to disrespect the person asking that question are not being respectful. That's the problem. We have had no policy regarding someone asking simply if someone of his faith was around or if there is a certain temple around in Seoul or wherever. That hasn't ever been against policy. Discussing religion and encouraging religious discussions and bickering is against regulations. The original thread was locked not because of something the OP did but because of people who wanted to use that to show their disdain for his faith, which wasn't fair to him.
His offense was posting the thread again after it was locked rather than contacting the moderators.

Happy Seollnal.

Until further notice, this thread is being locked due to the predictable behavior of some who want to attack people's religion and insist on having a discussion about religion, religious beliefs etc....

Do not post this thread again, OP. Unless there is further notice, this is locked, and posting this thread again by the OP will result in actions by the mod, and sarcastic attacks or challenging mods on purpose is not appreciated.
