Hi fellow teachers,

I'm moving next month, and have had it with Korean real estate agents ignoring what I ask for. So I'm trying something different -- if you are currently renting a great apartment, and moving within the next month-six weeks, I will gladly pay YOU the real estate fee instead of giving it to a real estate agent. All you have to do is introduce me to your landlord.

Gangnam-Seocho or Itaewon/HBC/Noksa are all possibilities. But, location is not the most important thing, I'm willing to commute for a great place.

Please send me details and pictures (if available).

I know it's Incheon, but my friend is leaving in a month and has a nice apartment that he's looking to pass on to a foreigner. It's in Art Center (arguably the best part of Incheon) and key money is 5 million. Rent is about 500,000 per month. It has a loft, and a nice amount of space. He's leaving in March, so is willing to sell it with the furniture and electronics (TV and a few other things).

It's probably a bit far for you, but I'm just putting it out there. I'd take it, but I hate moving and my lease isn't up until summer.

Best,
NYC

Thanks for the reply. It's a bit too far, to be honest. I think that might be about 1.5 hours from my current job. Someone else on here might be interested, though.

Also, could people PM me instead of posting to the board?

Thanks!

Just a note..private rentals don't require paying a finders fee. If you rent directly from someone without a real estate agent, you just have to pay some random agent 30,000 to do the paper work, the 300,00-500,000 fee is no longer applicable.

Taking a wild guess that the OP knows this, and is trying to encourage people to give info about their good apartments by offering an incentive.

Yes, that was my intention (the incentive). I'm simply trying to find a good apartment by word of mouth rather than through a real estate agent who probably doesn't have my best interests at heart anyway.

I haven't decided on an apartment yet, btw, so still very interested to from people!

it wasn't just for him, others may not have known that as well. Because you still have to go to the real estate agent to do the contract.
