The page you are looking for is the one page you can look at on English Wikipedia. Try the "learn more" link.

OK, so we win this round on SOPA/PIPA as Congress responds to the millions of emails against them as it tables further action for now, but then the FBI goes and shuts down Megaupload anyway??? If that isn't like saying FU to the citizenry! So what do the laws matter anymore anyway? They are just going to do whatever they want, the law be damned.

This seems to have become the pattern. We'll do whatever we want first and make the law later. Like when they executed the American citizen Allawi, and after they passed the NDAA making it legal (of course, only in a short-term, short-sighted technical sense of that word).

Man, you're really looking at this the wrong way. The system worked. SOPA/PIPA went down in flames.

For now, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it attached later to some omnnibus bill/debt-ceiling measure.

An Iran "crisis" would provide a nice diversion, too.

There was too much initial support in Congress (and elsewhere) to just assume that this is finished.

The system worked? They subverted the people's wishes by shutting down Megaupload anyway! It sure did work - for the corporate 1% who wanted it.

And the powers that wanted it aren't very happy with the outcome and they don't care who knows it anymore.

MIght as well make it dramatic...

Reinforcing the fact that Chris Dodd really does not get what's happening, and showing just how disgustingly corrupt the MPAA relationship is with politicians, Chris Dodd went on Fox News to explicitly threaten politicians who accept MPAA campaign donations that they'd better pass Hollywood's favorite legislation... or else:

I am glad Wikipedia and Google took a stand, and so many people noticed because people use Wikipedia so much. I don't want Uncle Sam to be more and more like Uncle Stalin. It's getting to be too much.

Now that it's been pushed aside, the lobbyists are going to double their efforts to get similar legislation passed in other counties, particularly Bill C-11 in Canada which has been previously defeated and is set to return to the House of Commons in a few weeks, so they can use that as a means to convince the US government to do the same.
