Hello~
I need to get set up with a cellphone this week.
I live in a small town and my experiences were awful some years ago,
so I just stayed with a home phone.
Now it is time to get an inexpensive set up that will work well to call
abroad.
Has anyone got a suggestion for :
1. What company to use.
2. What phone(I want a basic, not interested in the I/smartphone stuff)
3. How to call to Vietnam/Europe/America most inexpensively?
4. Where is there a store that will set me up properly?
5. Should I get a pay as you go plan? I will retain my home line.
** I've been using Jajah.com to call foreign countries, but have found that
the quality of these calls has deteriorated to the point of being worthless.
Is there another more affordable/good quality calling service/method for international calls that you prefer?
(yes, I use Skype for video calling)
Thanks.

buy any cellphone outright ... then you can take it to the SK, LG or KT centre and get it connected under pay as you go. usually phone handsets are locked to a carrier, so ask which telco the phone is used for before buying one.
it's easy and cheap ... you just have to own the phone first. minimum recharge (when i did this) was 10,000 won and the credit lasted for up to 3 months. |
