|
|
I've been wanting to brush up on my Korean, and I find myself with a little over a month off before starting my next job.
Travelling is not really an option, so I figure I should take this opportunity to really hit the books. I could self study, but I know I won't. I need the structure of a class.
So, does anyone know of any intensive classes (maybe 3 or 4 weeks)? Preferably not too expensive. |

I teach English at Sogang and the Korean intensive lessons I hear are great but their website seems way out of date. http://korean.sogang.ac.kr/

Thanks.
Yeah, a lot of websites seem out of date. Info for 2011 or earlier.
Most university courses require registration at least a month in advance and don't seem to fit my timetable.
Probably end up looking at a Korean hagwon or something. |

The intensive classes at universities last 10 or 12 weeks. If you want a good hagwon only for a month, check out Metro Korean Academy near Gwanghwamun. They have small class sizes that allow lots of speaking practice. There are classes mornings, afternoons and evenings and you could design an intensive program for yourself by taking a few classes, some grammar some conversation. It is a small hagwon but I thought the teachers were very good. I'm guessing if you took a few classes you could probably get a discount, just a guess. They seemed pretty flexible. |

Try the Yonsei Uni program, it's pretty intense but has great reviews. I have a few friends that have done it. They have a variety of different schedules you can do as well. |

Unis have some shorter programs too; I just did a 3 week one at SNU (during the winter break). But since the OP is looking for something without having to register a month in advance, that means he'll have to go for a hagwon. I've heard of good things about MKA too, so it's worth calling and asking. |

Are the classes offered by the government (I think municipal?) really terrible? I heard something about free lessons offered at City Hall on Saturdays |
