|
|
Lately I've talked to 4-5 people looking to upgrade to a smartphone. Whenever I mention the Iphone they all say the same thing, "If it needs service, it will take a month to get it back". I asked why they thought that and they all said they saw a news story about Apple's service policy, and how bad it is.
When I talk to actual Iphone owners they've said Apple's after service was great. So what's the real deal with Apple's Iphone service, compared to say the Galaxy? Is it really that bad? |

| The only time I have had to use it I had no complaints. I dropped my iphone in large amount of water, tried the rice trick but no luck. Went to after service center, paid some money, got new refurbed phone in less than 30min, then submitted documents for insurance to get money back. Some people want their phone fixed not a refurb but it doesn't bother me... |

| Apple's service is one reason why I buy their products. I've visited their service centres in Japan and Korea and in both countries they've been quick to respond and tried their best to get a service tech to communicate in English. I also dropped my iPhone in water and the worst part of the ordeal was getting reimbursed by the insurance company which has nothing to do with Apple and was a separate arm of KT. Try to get a Korean to help you out, if possible. |

I cracked the screen on my 3Gs. I took it to KT's service center, paid 290,000원 and filled out some forms, and walked away with a new 3Gs. A couple of weeks later they deposited 240,000원 into my bank account.
Total cost: 50k.
Insurance here is awesome. |

If you DON'T pay that deposit, then I believe you have the 3 week wait for the replacement phone. |
